Home again

Boston is home! He was doing so well they let him go a few days earlier then we expected. They sent him home with a heart monitor and as long as we don't get anymore blue lips he should be good. We still can't go out and about for 3 more weeks or so, but defiantly making heavy progress!

Easy like Sunday morning

Good morning :) back from morning x ray and in the room playing with buzz lightyear. Last night went pretty well, besides some pickyness with waking up for meds. He slept well and woke up pretty happy. Yesterday evening was awesome. He walked to the wagon, then went for a ride to the playroom. He had a great time playing in the playroom with Some of his cousins Lilli and Devan. He sat and played the piano and painted a pumpkin. He also had a lot of visitors who all brought him nice prizes. His biggest complaint right now is his iv in his foot. He hasn't been complaining much of pain and his heart rhythms have stayed good. Should be home by Tuesday if he keeps doing well. We'll keep you posted!

Happy Bean

Bean is happy today :)Slept good, peed in the potty (yahoo), went for a wheel chair ride with mom to have an x ray and made it down and back with no SVT or freak outs! He ate dinner ( doritos and a cookie) last night, a few bites of breakfast, and working on pizza now. They removed his chest tube and one of his IVs. He hasn't had any bad heart rhythms today and he looks great. Up talking and watching toy story! He's gotten a lot of love and some prizes from dad and grandparents. The nurses and techs have been great, looking forward to more of this happy Bean.

Sure wish Bean & i were @ SoJo Rec today & not here

Boston did great last night, no high heart rate or anything, was doing great this morning they talked about moving him up to a room and out of ICU but about 20 min ago he went back in to SVT again and his heart rate jumped to around 200 (should be around 100) they had to put him on a pacemaker for a bit to get it down, he is pretty good right now without the pacemaker, he just fell back asleep. It is the saddest thing when he does that, he looks like he is in so much pain when it happens. He thinks it is the tape on his tummy and keeps saying "dumb tape huh mom" poor boy. I hope it stays normal now or I am going to need a pacemaker!

Another update

Sorry no up date in a while. He was doing very good this morning after they took his breathing tube out. They took out his catheter and his pic line. He has had a few little panic attacks off and on this afternoon because he was in some pain, but then would go back to sleep. He had a little episode and his heart rate went pretty high but it is under control now

Waking up

Boston is awake now, they just took the breathing tube out and he is now breathing on his own. He was crying a little bit for some water and he can't have any for another 3 hours :( They went to swab his mouth and he grabbed the swab from the nurse to do it himself lol. His nurse has been amazing she was the sweetest thing, they are doing a shift change right now so I hope he gets another good one

Out of Surgery

Boston just got out of surgery. They are going to keep him sedated tonight. They fixed the hole in his heart, fixed his valve and removed the extra muscle tissue that was in his heart. He did very well, but they had a hard time getting the bleeding to stop. They are taking him to the icu and we will be able to see him in about an hour or so. Good thing his is such a spit fire so he can handle all of this. He is such an awesome little kid and I am so proud of him, he is the light of my life and I knew he would be ok because I cant be here without him. I will keep updating, he will be up here at Primary's for about a week, thank god for this wonderful hospital and wonderful doctors. I knew there was a reason 12 years ago I started a tradition of donating a tree to the Festival of Trees, this year it will be a "Boston Tree" so I hope everybody will be able to come see it. Loves

More Updates

They just took him off of the heart and lung machine and his heart is now going on it's own so now they just have to close up. They should be calling in an hour. So far so good, still some work to go.

Update

They just called us and told us that they got him on the bypass machine and just started the procedures on his heart. They said they will let us know when they take him off of it.

Surgery Day

They took Boston back about 3:30. He was really liking the meds that they gave him, he was just smiling and laughing pretty good before they took him back. They just called and said they had all of his IVs going and they just made the incision and got started they told us they will let us know after they stop his heart and get him on the bypass machine...will keep updating. Loves

Surgery day

We are still waiting for Boston to go back to the O.R. The surgery before him is taking a little longer they were thinking they will be taking him back around 3:30.

California

California was amazing, all of Boston's cousins with him, he had the time of his life. There was never a dull moment with 9 kids and 11 adults in Disneyland. He loved Seaworld, the Wild Animal Park, the Zoo and the Beach, but seeing him at Disneyland with of the Characters, on his favorite Woody & Buzz rides and at the Mickey's parade was priceless.
